I don't use MSG but a short search in the internet shows that registry settings are required on all involved computers.
Read http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en/w7itprogeneral/thread/344aa708-5477-46f9-be4f-ad8b3b2348b0.

net send /?

I'm not sure but the required service may be disabled or made LAN only. I remember early versions of Windows XP had the messenging service enabled by default, and users would receive spam from bots broadcasting crap to wide IP address ranges. I think it also allowed a security hole for a virus called MS Blaster.

@orange_batch

NET SEND is removed on Vista/Win7 (for safety reasons). I remember that you also had to do some registry settings to enable NET SEND on XP. However bambata asked for a Win7 solution.
