Run in DOS-MODE

#1 Post by Kenne » 31 May 2012 17:18

Know someone point me to some site that has a program that runs in DOS mode to detect the hardware ids eg: dvd drive, hard drive, etc? There is one called Devcon, but it only runs under Windows ...

Thank you! :-)

These are two MSDOS hardware information programs.
If you can't find them then let me know and I'll dig them up from an old cdrom.

Hwinfo
PC-Config

Do you want to run this in MSDOS with older hardware?

That version of HWinfo seems to be for Windows.

Here it is, direct from cdrom. You have to scan it for malware.

It may not do what you expect as it is from 1997 and will not have updated definitions.

Hi foxidrive. I've tested the HWinfo and run fine. however, i can't pick up the info generated by the sw. For example: One command of DOS → systeminfo

If I run this command with > parameter I get into a .txt file all information saved.

systeminfo > pc.log

I needed that to solve my problem :-)

PC-Config can help-me with this issue? Thanks!

I don't know. If you describe your problem then maybe someone can help.

PC-Config is here.
