Text Manipulation Tools

#1 Post by psJimm » 05 Apr 2017 09:44

While browsing I've seen a few posts with similar issues regarding text manipulation.
I've used the online, free tools offered by the Text Mechanic (textmechanic.com) for a few years and never had any problems.
Some are already available in Window, DOS, Excel as well as other programming languages however having them all in one place via my browser has been a big help. I hope you find them useful as well.

Here is a link to his site:

Here is a list of the free tools:
(You can Google the tool name to avoid the mildly awkward navigation of his site design)

These I use often:
Add Prefix/Suffix into Line
Add/Remove Line Breaks
Delimited Column Extractor
Letter Case Converter
Merge Text (Line by Line)
Remove Letter Accents
Remove Lines Containing
Sort Text Lines

Here is a more complete list:

Count Characters, Words, Lines

If I can't access the site via the command line, what's the point?

My apologies! I have, post my post (LOL) been enlightened about the non-dos-tips references.
Please feel free to remove said post or add a reply "Access the site via the command line"
Thanks for your considerate reply!
