Re: Windows (and Office?) product key finder

I wanted to test both programs (not related to your post). I can't test it on x64 XP, sorry. What is strange is that PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE=x86 but it really is 64-bit computer. And Shadow tests if "%processor_architecture%"=="AMD64" but SET P shows PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE=x86 PROCESSOR_ARCHITEW6432=...

Re: Windows (and Office?) product key finder

Thank you both. ShadowThief's version is not working on my work computer (x64). Errors I get: ERROR: The system was unable to find the specified registry key or value. Invalid number. Numeric constants are either decimal (17), hexadecimal (0x11), or octal (021). ... But set p displays PROCESSOR_ARCH...

Windows (and Office?) product key finder

There are scripts published on the web that display Windows (XP and up) product keys (XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX). On Microsoft's site you can find this .vbs script (I replaced msgbox with wscript.echo). This script displays Windows 10 key for your computer: Set WshShell = CreateObject("WScript.S...

Re: Simple replace text in txt file script

If you only have one line (you wrote: sample.txt just has this in it) in the file you could only use

Code: Select all

@echo new_color>filename.txt
Answer is based on the info you provided.

Re: How do I convert batch script arguments to pattern?

In total commander try using %P%S. Maybe this will help.

Or use %s (lowercase s).

Maybe better solution might be to use SHIFT in a loop to move parameters into variables.

Re: Command prompt - combining files by name

I did a test (Windows 10): Sequence_test.cmd contains: @echo off title This will take a while... echo 3 >003.txt timeout /t 120 echo 4 >004.txt timeout /t 120 echo 5 >005.txt timeout /t 120 echo 1 >001.txt timeout /t 120 echo 2 >002.txt timeout /t 120 copy /b 0*.txt 0_b.log copy 0*.txt 0__.log copy ...

Re: Command prompt - combining files by name

@miskox I've tried your command but unfortunately, I get the same order as with my type command.. I did rename your .out file to a .log file, but I doubt that is the reason for it Interesting. So I was lucky because I generated all my files in a sequence - this must be the reason that everything ha...

Re: Command prompt - combining files by name

@penpen: I've used this command many times - always as expected (in the correct sequential order). Of course it is up to the OP to decide.

Re: Command prompt - combining files by name

Can this be used or something like that?

Code: Select all

copy *.txt outfile.out
or maybe

Code: Select all

copy /b *.txt outfile.out

Does anyone have a picture of him? What was his age when he passed away? What was his real name?

Thanks.

Re: .cmd/.bat file size limit? Yes. 2GB

@Dave: you are correct: 32 bits and not 28 bits (looks like we have too much wind and 4 bits were blown away). I did a test with modified .cmd. First three lines contain: @echo START @echo off :: 1 XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX Test shows: C:\test.cmd START line 10000001 START C:...

.cmd/.bat file size limit? Yes. 2GB

Hello all! Here https://stackoverflow.com/questions/1217134/file-size-and-line-length-limits-for-windows-batch-files and here https://groups.google.com/g/alt.msdos.batch/c/z_H4JWPih-A (for MS-DOS 6.22) that there is not file size limit to .bat/.cmd. But... Over the weekend I generated (with another ...

Re: Colossal Cave Adventure in batch

Dave, thank you. I will check it.

In the ZX Spectrum days there were lots of text adventures but I was never into them... Maybe you could port legendary 'The Hobbit'...if there is a source.

Re: Colossal Cave Adventure in batch

I just downloaded it and tried it. Question: how do I redisplay the inormation I get when entering a new place? If I enter many commands the information disappaers from the screen.

Thanks.
