Re: DOSTIPS.COM does not work on XP

The dostips.com certificate uses sha256 encryption. This google forum thread states that sha256 wasn't supported before Windows XP Service Pack 3. Could this be the issue? Possibly later Firefox versions added their own support?

Re: revamped forum

As y'all may agree DosTips is not known for frequent changes. Since 2005 this is only the 2nd major forum update. Of course I do understand that any change causes upsets - this one was long overdue for security and streamlining reasons, also making future forum maintenance a bit easier for me. Hey S...

Re: revamped forum

Some good news on non-ASCII characters - those are correctly in the database, so nothing got lost, it's simply an issue with the visualization which i anticipate to have fixed soon.

Re: revamped forum

Change never comes without disruption :). If you guys find a supported style you like, I can add it. As Steffen mentioned, the previous style is not supported in the new phpbb version, yet, it may still come later. Styles are always a major hustle when upgrading the forum, but adding one or two more...

Re: Is the "Select all" link failing?

So the "Remember Me" is good now, great!

Steffen,
Your images help understanding the issue. I'll update the forum and styles and see if that helps.

Survey Popup - RESULTS

Results from our recent survey, thanks to everyone who participated. There is interest to having Powershell tips on dostips.com. There is also interest for bash tips but mixed opinion about where it should go. The email collection form was not so well received, so it got removed. http://www.dostips....

Re: Is the "Select all" link failing?

@PaperTronics - are you using http://dostips.com or http://www.dostips.com ? Either way could you try the other option and let me know if the issue persists?

Re: Is the "Select all" link failing?

I tried the Select-All Ctrl-C on Win 10 Pro and Win 7 and it worked fine. Tricky to fix without being able to reproduce it. The Select-All JavaScript is embedded in the html onclick attribute: <div class="codetitle"> <b>Code:</b> <a href="#" onclick="var range=document.creat...

Why did your forum style change?

Greetings, In an attempt to fix the forum style used for mobile devices the style for all registered users has been reset to "subsilver2". About 40 users are affected. Feel free to change it back. If you'd like to use the mobile style on your mobile device for now you can use this link htt...

Re: revamped forum

Again thanks for the quick feedback! Catching up with some comments... @Ed Dyreen & Squashman & foxidrive: So yeah they must have migrated the subsilver2 style this week, it wasn't there when I migrated the forum. @npocmaka_: The number of allowed links has been increased to 6 - as a trial, ...

Re: revamped forum

After testing some of the newly installed styles I found that most of them have the same issue of scrolling- or low-contrast code sections. I'll see if tweaking the css of the original Style will help, as soon I have a bit more time. Still if you find a Style you like, please share here. Thanks! Peter

Re: revamped forum

Greetings and thanks for the feedback. The forum needed upgrading to keep up with the security issues. It made most sense to move to the latest version. Unfortunately the major-version change from 2.x to 3.1 broke the old Styles. 2 options for now: ⋅ Look at the additional Styles I just in...
