Re: Enabling Special Characters in Windows 10

If you're like me and wondered why some of the characters weren't appearing, make sure the font you're using supports them all. I had to switch from Cascadia Mono to Consolas to get the ▒ to appear. That's a good point. I was already set to Consolas and had no issues. I don't know if this is possib...

Re: Enabling Special Characters in Windows 10

Thanks, ShadowThief. I'm interested specifically in the Terminal here. I haven't had any issues using [`], [a] as well as the ones you mentioned. It'll be interesting to see where all this goes in the next major update to Windows 10 (Windows 11). There are a few undocumented characters. The below i...

Re: Enabling Special Characters in Windows 10

That's all there is, but which characters you have access to will vary based on whether you use the command prompt or the Windows Terminal.

The only letters that work with both are f, g, j, k, l, m, n, q, t, u, v, w, x, y, and z.

Re: Break out of script and goto menu

Somebody more qualified than I am will have to answer that, but my gut instinct is that since the CTRL+Break is processed by cmd.exe itself and not the script, the script has no idea you've pressed CTRL+Break or responded to it, so there is no way it can even look for that.

Re: serch all flac in folder and subfolder? (wrong script)

I don't know what your folder structure looks like so it's impossible to say for certain, but it should be as straightforward as changing

Code: Select all

dir /a:-d /b %file_mask%
to

Code: Select all

dir /a:-d /b /s %file_mask%

No, because it should be doing that automatically. Post your entire scripts and we'll be able to troubleshoot more effectively.

Re: Return to the 1st batch file

A script run via call will return control to the script that called it once the second script is over.

That said, there's already a command called net use, so that may be causing issues. Never name a script the same thing as a command that already exists.

Re: Break out of script and goto menu

Because of how simple this question appears, I'm worried that when I say "use goto menu ," you're going to respond with "that didn't work." If you can elaborate on what you mean by "break out of a batch file" and "while it's running," (how would a batch file do things when it wasn't running?) I can ...

Re: Commands don't execute from batch file but from CMD

Everything after echo gets printed to the screen, and that's all that command does. You never run the actual commands at any point - you would do that by having the same command but without the echo at the beginning.

Re: Batch File not running in the AM hours

When the value of %TIME% is between 1:00 and 9:59 AM, the hour is prefixed with a space. Since your output path is unquoted, your reports aren't being sent to the correct location. You've got a couple options here: 1. Use quotes "C:\Program Files\apache-jmeter-5.3\bin\jmeter" -n -t C:\AA\Per\JMX\myt...

Re: bat file dont run

In a batch script, your for loop variable needs to use two %s instead of one.

Code: Select all

for %%i in (*mkv) do md "%%~ni"
for %%i in (*mkv) do move "%%i" "%%~ni"

Re: Windows (and Office?) product key finder

My script runs correctly in Windows 10 (and by correctly, I mean it matches the output of the vbs script in the first post). Frankly, that's the only thing I care about because I refuse to support older versions of Windows. Also, to be blunt, literally nobody needs this script. Your product ID is ei...

I only tested 32-bit Windows XP, because why are you running Windows XP in 2021?
