Re: <LF> is allowed in variable names

Interesting find. Call may also be used to expand the variable: @Echo Off & Setlocal EnableDelayedExpansion Set ^"var1^ =_1^" Set ^"var2^ =_2^" Set var Call Echo/[!var1^ !] Call Echo/[!var2^ !] Echo/[!var1:_=Var #!] Echo/[!var2:_=Var #!] Echo/[!var1^ :_=Var #!] Echo/[!var2^ :_=Var #!] Call Echo/[!va...

Re: VT code Batch Paint

How many of you out there would like the option to name object files ('painting's) in program, simplifying the production of Projects? Or to be able to use the Animate.bat subscript to select and load in mulitple objects and build up layered Animations, with the ability to independently adjust objec...

Re: Expression Lab - interactive expression display

The scaling issue I was experiencing is when screen display is set to factors other than 100%. Different resolutions work fine so long as the scale is 100%, and when at factors over 100% the fullscreen mode kicks in though with the animation at a reduced size within the console. I've developed my ow...

Good to hear it's all sorted.
Currently in the process of building in an editable color palette for quick selection - Let me know if there's other features you'd like to see.

Re: Expression Lab - interactive expression display

Working well for the most part, Still an issue with scaling over 100% though. Still going to have plenty of fun with this.

Re: VT code Batch Paint

My very first guess would be you've copied and pasted the code as opposed to downloading the full script. The program uses a collection of external .exe's to gather information to calculate scaling of screen size. If those .exe's aren't present, the program will return those errors as the values for...

Trawling through the annals of Batch History, I thought I'd add a little version of my own. Introducing MasterMind the Macro @Echo off & TITLE Mastermind [1-8] [Q]uit (Set \n=^^^ %= Newline Var - Do not modify =% ) ::: { Creates variable /AE = Ascii-27 escape code. ::: - http://www.dostips.com/forum...

Re: How escape a pipe ?

I can't test in full if it's the intended outcome, however an additional escaping of the pipe prevents the syntax error. So ^^^| as opposed to ^| for /f "delims=" %I in ('mshta "about:<OBJECT id=HTMLDlgHelper classid="CLSID:3050F4E1-98B5-11CF-BB82-00AA00BDCE0B"></OBJECT><SCRIPT language="VBSCRIPT">S...

Re: Is it possible to create a variable that will change a data path in a command?

A slightly over the top means that ensures the input is numerical and of the desired length. @Echo off (Set \n=^^^ %= Newline Var - Do not modify =% ) Set "Profile=C:\Data\Hosted\Company------\Profiles\" ::: [Fixed Length Input Macro] ::: Usage: %DATAENTRY% [Var Name] [Choice character options] [Inp...

Re: Dynamic loop code over multiple lines causes extra quotes

Here's a simple test script to show how caret escaping occurs. A good tip when your struggling to understand whats happening with the commands your parsing is to NOT use @echo off, so you can see how each command is being parsed I've tailored this example to the delayed expansion environment and esc...

Re: Dynamic loop code over multiple lines causes extra quotes

As discussed on stack overflow, the escaping of variables and double %% escaping of metavariables can be avoided by defining the loop as a macro and using the subroutine to expand that macro within delayed expansion environments such as code blocks. This also avoids the need of handling doublequotes...
