Re: [utility] Bhx 2.1

what is 'correct'? for eexample, if carlos wants to package sed.exe, where should he download from that would statisfy "licensing issues" and "universal syntax" that doesn't break? The drawback is that the size of the batch file will grow very large, when large binaries are encod...

Re: two findstr questions

libintl3.dll is missing when installing to my netbook after downloading a grep.exe from a link specified above. some of the commands need some extra dll. i have uploaded the dlls into dll folder. alternatively, if you are interested to use GNU tools for windows, please go to the m website to downlo...

Re: two findstr questions

Why would anyone trust a person they don't know or who is to say the dropbox link wasn't hacked? ermm use a virus scanner? the same question I want to ask you, the bhx2.1 utility. Why would anyone trust the hex code in there or who is to say it wasn't a trojan? Reread his original post on what he i...

Re: [utility] Bhx 2.1

This does seem to have the benefit of not having to download extra utilities if that is truly the case. yes, it does have that benefit. but you have to create all those hex stuff from sed.exe first and "repackage" it. Doesn't sound different to me as its still "downloading" from...

Re: two findstr questions

Not sure how that solves his problem. Also, why not post a link to GREP from a trusted source like UnixUtils or GNUWin. yes it does. the problem is the "|" pipe right? findstr does gives error, but tools like GNU grep doesn't. the tools in the dropbox are downloaded from trusted source fi...

Re: [utility] Bhx 2.1

while its a novel idea, like creating an "installer" but i think not much difference if I just download sed.exe and use it.

you can always get a better tool if it allows.
Download GNU grep

Code: Select all

type myBigFile.txt | grep "^something"

Re: Gain MAC address by batch file

if you have getmac something like this @echo off For /f "tokens=1" %%a in ('getmac /NH') do ( echo %%a ) or this For /f "tokens=2 delims=:" %%a in ('ipconfig /all ^| findstr /i "physical"') do ( echo %%a ) On a side note: you will probably need to do string and file par...

Try using that on a 64bit system.

use on a 32bit version then. I am sure with purists and experts who like to stretch their limits and come out with a solution.
