Thank you for the reply! Unfortunately, that didn't solve it. Also, the issue is with the 2nd command line argument, not the first (%ACTION%).

Thanks!
Of, course! The old guy is losing it again. Try quoting the "%%S", instead.

Re: Can someone write me a batch file to replace full stops in filenames, please?

Invalid parameter(s) CHANGE {LOGON | PORT | USER} I've no idea what that error message means. I added some info with a pause at the end and double-clicked the file to get: ren "FindMyTitle.old.bat" "FindMyTitle old.bat" ren "Full.Stops.v1.0.txt" "Full Stops v1 0.t...

Re: IF conditional making code fail - why?

The quotes on your strings are user to define the strings to IN ("..." "...") in the FOR loop, but I think that the variable is assigned the string itself. Try:
Suggested code wrote:CALL SafeStopStartRestart.cmd "%ACTION%" %%S %RPT_SRVR% %PLOGPATH% %PERRORPATH%

Re: Mouse-Selectable Menu from a data file - a/la CHOICE

My intention is to assign a row number as a default selection and to use the timeout to simulate the results of a mouse-click on that row and then allow the existing structure to run its course. GetInput return zero when a timeout occur as I said before, so such zero is not related to anyone of the...

Re: Mouse-Selectable Menu from a data file - a/la CHOICE

No clue to be honest, quite strange. It produces 0,0,1,1 here, like it should (Win 7). Does it actually behave like what GetQuickEdit reports? (for example in your second example, is quickedit actually off after the script finishes?) There is a reply that I can work with. All experiments with a scr...

Re: Mouse-Selectable Menu from a data file - a/la CHOICE

Mikael, So unless that Windows API is messed up somehow I don't have an explanation. Here is the briefest way to demonstrate the behaviour that I tried to explain in narrative, not in code. I ran this script in two different windows: @Echo Off CmdWiz SetQuickEdit 0 Echo(Just ran SetQuickEdit 0 CmdWi...

..... I suggest you to download such file so you have the current version of GetInput.exe. ..... The CHOICE /D switch requires that the default be one of the given options, so you can not distinguish a timeout from the default option. GetInput.exe return zero when timeout, so you may choose if the ...

Re: Mouse-Selectable Menu from a data file - a/la CHOICE

Thank you for taking the trouble. I removed the first loop as it seemed redundant and go straight to "NextLoop". ..... However, for your purposes it's largely useless ..... Also note I use "cmdwiz setquickedit 0". If quickedit is enabled, mouse activity may sometimes result in st...

Re: Mouse-Selectable Menu from a data file - a/la CHOICE

Thank you for looking at this for me. It seems that mouse click events don't stay in the console input buffer in the same way as the keyboard input events, but before I investigate this matter a point must be cleared. It seems that before anything, I had to solve a very basic problem, as evidenced b...

Re: Cmdgfx - draw graphic primitives (polygons, circles etc) in cmd line window

I'm actually a little perplexed that nobody seems to be using this stuff I mean, it might not be that great but it's certainly not that bad. Of course I know far from everybody is doing graphics stuff, but if you do, then why not try it? And if you did, what was it you didn't like about it? Too cry...

Re: Advanced Batch features via auxiliary .exe programs

Antonio, I am having some difficulty in applying GetInput.exe in one of my scripts. I tried to follow the thread in which you introduced it, but found no mention nor use in an example of the /T switch until it was included in these auxiliary .exe programs and it is only mentioned in the .txt file do...

Re: Mouse-Selectable Menu from a data file - a/la CHOICE

Starting right in with my own improvement suggestion, CHOICE has options for a timeout and a default selection. I thought that it should be possible to do that, but I have not been able to make it work. I have a test script, taken out of context, below. It attempts to use the /T flag of the GetInput...
