Re: Convert R G B values into single 0 - 255 color value?

As mentioned before (but not explicitely addressed to you): Why do you need such compressed colors (or better for what do you need such colors), and why don't you use a look-up table of clustered colors? penpen I need these compressed colors for the sake of simplicity. Properly compressing them to ...

Re: Convert R G B values into single 0 - 255 color value?

Argh... :oops: I made the same error, that Antonia has made: I used RRGGGBBB instead of RRRGGGBB. I apologize; sorry! Here are all variations: :: RRRGGGBB set /A "RGB_to_VALUE=(r & 0xE0) | ((g & 0xE0) >> 3) | ((b & 0xC0) >> 6)" :: RRRGGBBB set /A "RGB_to_VALUE=(r & 0xE0) | ((g & 0xC0) >> 3) | ((b &...

Re: Convert R G B values into single 0 - 255 color value?

I'm afraid that, while Penpen has made it close, it's not quite right. Penpen https://gyazo.com/15fcb46af49646354061945c713228ac.png Aacini https://gyazo.com/7745c6735f55e68d4df195d196a1562f.png I suppose the line I have above works quite nicely for what I'm doing, so I guess I'll just stick with th...

Re: Convert R G B values into single 0 - 255 color value?

Hey Antonio! Thank you for your efforts! To my understanding it should be RRR GGG BB instead of RR GGG BBB I made a 100x25 image of clouds in the sky. Lets call its a layer strip for parallax background. Your algorithm gave me a distorted output :( https://gyazo.com/72a6c8770da27f5269a0f2b75953293c....

Re: Convert R G B values into single 0 - 255 color value?

Hello everyone! Just had a quick question if anyone were familiar with this? If you have seen this thread Display .PPM files in RPG then this question will make more sense. So from this script I get 3 values; R, G, and B. But I want to use these values to get their single corresponding value for 4b...

Re: Pure Batch Colored Bouncing ball animation

... Thankfully, the VT100 escape sequence engine treats 009 the same as 9. So each number in the {ColorValue} must be left zero padded to a constant width (either width 2 or 3, depending on your color palette). I didn't realize VT100 engine read numbers that way. I am trying to understand what you ...

Re: Pure Batch Colored Bouncing ball animation

What you are asking absolutely makes sense - in fact, I was working on an alternate plotting strategy that can support your idea. However, bouncing off properly can be a bit tricky, because you have to figure out if you are changing X direction, Y direction, or both. And if both objects are moving,...

Re: Pure Batch Colored Bouncing ball animation

I was wondering if there is a way to detect collision between balls? Or possibly any object that is in it's path? Lets just create a hypothetical This code says, every 100 frames show an collide-able object (this could be another ball) set /a "frame+=1" set /a "doAction=frame %% 100" if !doAction! e...

Oh my god, Dave. I am in awe. This is so totally amazing, I never thought this could be explored this much further; which excites me because it gives me a true understanding of how little I know and how much more I have to learn. There are no words to express the respect and gratitude I have. I am l...

Re: Pure Batch Colored Bouncing ball animation

Oh my god! Truly breath taking! You've managed to take away the flicker! THIS IS BEAUTIFUL!!!! Nicely done. I noticed that the balls get compressed when they bounce of the top or left edge. But they do not compress when they bounce of the right or bottom. I'm assuming this is an artifact of a comput...

Re: Algorithmic conditions, and returns????

My problem now lies with HOW do I write such a function? (The actual maths)? In the %getDistance% macro I posted above, it does contain somewhat of an "if" because it checks for the larger integer, but I don't know how it does that.. my problem is now solved!! I have posted the complete creation of...
