Perfect!

Full output is here:

However the too long errors are still there. The link above is the output of another computer, one that has 5 different printers installed. The script is very good however.

@Compo
Thanks for your observation. I'll have to test that on a machine with many printers to see if the IP output is the same as my key paths. If all is good I'll make the changes.

The code should have removed the lines with "Default DevMode" so I'm not sure which code you are running.
However, if you can live without the binary blocks then change

|find /i /v "Default DevMode"

to

|find /i /v "REG_BINARY"

10 days with no reply.

You know, I get really jack of people who ask for free help, and then just brush you off as an insignificant person once they get their help. Do you think if their mate helped them paint the bathroom, or their electrician friend came to fix a broken power point, that these people would turn their backs on the electrician or their mate and say nothing at all, and only smile and be friendly when they had another problem to ask for free help with?

I don't think they would and it's just the lack of thought and lack of consideration that makes them feel happy that they have a solution, and yet not think of the human who has provided them with that solution - so not even thanks are given or the knowledge that the solution helped them.

It's not an isolated thing that happens - it happens again and again and again - that people I've described just don't consider other people.

The funny thing is that all the volunteers are exactly the opposite, as they are people who give their time and experience and will reply again and again until the *person* they are interacting with has a good solution.

The volunteers know that they are helping people and that they will never meet them, but they do this in the full knowledge that it is human beings with feelings and families that they are helping, for no charge and spending their own free time to give this help.

It boggles my mind that this can't be innate knowledge in a normal human - and that they act as though people at the other end of a keyboard don't exist, except to serve them.

Ok. Rant over. Please score it in a mark out of 1 to 10, with 10 being a rant worthy of being tattooed on your bum.

I'm sorry if you think I was disrespectful. I have thanked you in numerous posts on this thread. I just assumed this would be self-explanatory. If you look at my other posts you'll see that I've always been respectful and thanked all of helped me.

The thing is that you guys help the common user very much, your help is invaluable because automating things with a script saves time, nerves and makes the job of sys admin or whatever a lot more pleasurable. I know that after help is received no one posts back to confrim if it is working or to say thanks but as I said, most consider this self explanatory. Free help is hard to find and is only given by those that actually love what they do and they would do it regardless of benefits.

And about the scale thing, the fact that i'm writing this is a confirmation that your post affected me.

For this script and perhaps other in the future I want to say thank you for your help. This particular script saved me from wasting many hours of work.

Thank you for your reply Olyrd, and for your past thanks.

It's clear that my post was a shock to you, though your past posts really have no relevance here because a volunteer should not be expected to read through anyone's posting history in this way.

My words were not there to describe you in particular, but to give an analogy to describe how so many people do this kind of thing. Sometimes you rant, when things happen again and again - then you keep at it again.

no one posts back to confirm if it is working or to say thanks but as I said, most consider this self explanatory.

Can I ask a quick question? If your Mother makes you a Birthday cake, do you also consider it self explanatory and don't bother saying Thank you?

It may seem very different, but it is simply showing respect for someone that has done something for you. It could be your Mother, or your Father, or your Uncle, or your Girlfriend, or your best mate - or a stranger on the Internet who has helped you.

This is purely for conversation because I'm under no illusions to the usual way people behave in this regard, and I only replied to your post and ranted because it was by chance that I re-opened the thread. I never check for this kind of thing because it is too common, but that doesn't mean it isn't a tad annoying.

no one posts back

...if you think about it this is just disrespectful. It's taking someone for granted. Why is a person in a forum any less deserving for thanks, than your mate who built you a new BBQ?

I did say it was a rant - but give it a shot yourself. Help random strangers on the internet in whatever field you enjoy, and after about 20,000 messages - sit back and consider your outlook.

I continued this topic merely because you still consider this to be 'self explanatory' :D
