Hello, first post, checked FAQ first, tried various search methods, etc, before posting.

Is it possible to generate a list of topics, the first post of topics only?
And set the number of topics per page, say 100?
My purpose is to select, from the list, those subjects which are of primary interest to me.

Here is an example of what the list would look like: (just the one line; the Posted Subject aka topic?)

Any volunteers for updating Wikipedia pages
Arithmetic Operation
Assigning a variable based on text search of a file
Delayed expansion fails in some cases
doskey history behaviour across cmd instances
Drag and drop files into batch file
Enable / Disable LAN

I'm unsure what you are looking for:
There is a list of topics from which you are choosing from, but there is no way to also dispaly all first posts.

I've found no forum option to control the number of posts, but maybe there is an url parameter for that (i'm unfamilar with that).

Your example doesn't match what you're asking for, but if you only want a list of topics, just read the topic list: viewforum.php?f=3
There are options at the bottom of the page to sort by topic title.

The number of topics per page is set in the Admin Control Panel, which you don't have access to.

What I'm trying to avoid is the 'scroll-dums' scroll, scroll, scrolling through a few hundred pages makes me want to kick the cat or something ! Just kidding! LOL

Not a major issue so please do not concern your self any further with this!

What I usually do when I need to find something like this is select the advanced search and return only the topic title. Then, I'll open each topic title of interest in another thread. Definitely cuts down on the scrolling.

And then when I've figured out the perfect set of keywords for my particular interest, in advance search I will return posts and not topics. Then I can select those those topics in which the post of interest is in.
