It made most sense to move to the latest version. Unfortunately the major-version change from 2.x to 3.1 broke the old Styles.

2 options for now:

Cheers!

SubSilver2 comes close to the way it was, with users on the left messages on the right and no collapse simple buttons. :)

I'm a fan of CA Gen2, and it looks pretty similar to our old theme.

Silver2 seems just like the old forum.

I'll see if tweaking the css of the original Style will help, as soon I have a bit more time.

Still if you find a Style you like, please share here.

Thanks!
Peter

Ahh, you're well ahead of me. I posted a comment about styles just now. :)

Again thanks for the quick feedback!

Catching up with some comments...

@Ed Dyreen & Squashman & foxidrive: So yeah they must have migrated the subsilver2 style this week, it wasn't there when I migrated the forum.

@npocmaka_: The number of allowed links has been increased to 6 - as a trial, if the moderators report trouble then it may be undone though.

@einstein1969: To try out other 3.1.x Styles go here https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/styles-2/3.1 click on a Style then click the "Demo" tab. Make sure you try 3.1.x styles only.

@Liviu: To figure out what an icon means just hover the mouse over it and a descriptive tool-tip should appear.

@ShadowThief: Done, I'm glad you found one you like.

Cheers and happy posting!
Peter

I've noticed, that the horizontal slider is missing (at least under Internet Explorer 11.0.9600.18098, windows 8.1).
This is uncomfortable if you want to fix a post with an "overlong line".

Hmm, that may be a browser issue, works fine here on Firefox 28.0, but then firefox doesn't respect some other W3C standards like <table> style adjustment font-weight: bold;.

Hello Again!

Is it just me or has the forum reverted to some default style? How do I reset it? I looked through my settings and I couldn’t find it. :(

TIA!

The phpBB forum software was updated and the transfer protocol was moved from HTTP to HTTPS. The site administrator is still working on some minor issues. It's not quite clear if the old style is still available for the new version.
Please be patient but don't hesitate to report any bugs you discovered. Clear the cache and cookies first and restart the browser. Sometimes those issues are caused by old data

Hi Steffen,

Thanks for your reply. I tried your suggestions, but nothing worked. The new forum style overuses (imho) lists. The old style I was familiar with used tables, which are far easier for me to navigate. Please ask Peter the admin to add some styles and to allow mere mortals like myself to select the one that works best for our needs.

TIA!

My suggestions are not suitable to return to the old style. It's just that the old style (subsilver2) is not listed for phpBB 3.2.1  (Only if the new forum software doesn't behave as expected it could be caused by left data in the browser cache.)

"Allan Style - SUBSILVER" seems to be the style that is nearest to the old style. See https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/styles-2/3.2. I assume that's the reason why Peter chose it.

The main thing I miss is the quick reply box at the bottom of the page.

Change never comes without disruption :).

If you guys find a supported style you like, I can add it. As Steffen mentioned, the previous style is not supported in the new phpbb version, yet, it may still come later.
Styles are always a major hustle when upgrading the forum, but adding one or two more styles should be ok.

Peter
